I can answer some of the inevitable questions here:
- Why only the aiff format? [out of date info; now full-length RA and WAV]
- I'm working very hard to get these songs into other formats,
like au and wav. Some people have complained about not being able
to handle aiff files. Read
this
for info about how I get from tape to aiff files. Any hints on how
to make the extra steps to au and wav are healthily encouraged!
- How come these are complete songs?
- Because I haven't had time to make short 30-second samples of
these songs yet. Soon...
- Why should I get the tape when I have complete digitized versions?
- Because the digitized versions are mono, and you really want to
hear this in stereo. Because you can't play the digitized version in
your car (unless you tape it at your end). Because, although they
actually sound pretty good, the digitized versions just don't have
the bandwidth that a tape can provide.
- What!? Only two songs on a tape!?
- As I start packaging other releases, I'll start putting short
releases like this one together with others, and selling the tapes
as collections of release. Same cost, more music. How's that?
