Kate Redwing Monreal is from Westville, Oklahoma. She is of Blackfoot, Cherokee and Irish descent. She has been performing since age 5. She studied piano first, then voice. She worked as a background singer, then as a lead vocalist. Later, she started writing her own material and started exploring various types of ethnic music. She formed Quetzie Records with Andres Monreal and co-produced "The Bridge" for the Rainbow Tribe. Inspired by Omar Ramirez to become a classical guitarist, she started studying with Celino Romero and later classical and flamenco guitar with Diego Corriente. She performs as a solo guitarist as well as with the Rainbow Tribe. |
