The Forgotten Soul debut recording was released in 1994 and has received airplay on several radio stations at home and abroad. The band has also been a featured WMNF 88.5 FM (Tampa Florida) guest on its 1 hour local show. Forgotten Soul is an exp- erienced live band as well as studio band who likes to get the crowd pumped up and involved with the music. The bands' sound is varied and cannot be captured by any 'one song'. The style of music is probably best described as "In your Face Hard Rock/Heavy Metal with an alternative edge". The band was formed by Tom and Jeff Stottlar in 1992. The Head Cooks are 5 people playing 2 guitars, bass, drums, and flute. We're centered in Raleigh, NC; play ing local clubs for about 15 months now and generating a local following. We've just finished producing "Five" which is but a tiny fraction of the original material we play out. Influences run the route from straight up rock and roll to punk to jazz to blues and twang. The five songs on "Five" (get it?) represent the diversity of our music. We play assertive, lyrical, dynamic rock and roll. $6.25 (includes $1.25 first class postage to anywhere in the continental USA). the Head Cooks 1905 Quail Ridge Rd. Eric has been in the music business locally in New Mexico for many years now. Recently, he set off on his path of true calling; namely, he is highlighting his voice and his songs with his solo guitar only. So far, he has only played the southern NM and west Texas coffee house scene. However, he has finished recording a demo tape and is ready to hit the road as soon as possible. Influences include the Indigo Girls, Matthew Sweet, Louden Wainright, Richard Thompson, and many others. He has also composed a great many originals, including "Lovers and Friends" and "Rusty Heart," that latter of which was up for consideration at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Kerrville, Texas. "The Song's the Thing..." - CD/cassette Style: folk/roots rock HOT D.A.M. is David Weiss (guitar & vocals), Maryem Hassan (vocals & percussion), Marc Enkin (bass, banjo & harmonica), Arnie Winterhoff (drums & percussion), and John Teshima (guitars, bass, and backup vocals). From a purr to a roar, the songs are focused on the complementary qualities of David's and Maryem's voices. The result has been called "a perfect match" by more than one reviewer. The inspirations for the song lyrics run from The Beauty Myth through A Canticle for Leibowitz, filtered through musical influences such as the Roches, Matthew Sweet, Jane Siberry, and Ani diFranco. They have played live on Japanese radio to over 3,000,000 Tokyo morning listeners and led to The Song's The Thing... being added to the playlist of J-WAVE, Tokyo's lar- gest commercial radio station. They appear on the recent local compilation CDs OVER THE EDGE '94, iMpact Music Vol II. $14/CD $10/cassette (incl. shipping & handling) 724 Euclid Ave. Toronto, Ontario, M6G 2T9 CANADA tiberius@io.org ------------------------------------------------------------ HUGE.
