Anthony Garcia - Flamenco guitar I have been a student of flamenco for over 15 years. San Diego is fortunate to have several very knowledgeable flamenco guitarists, dancers, and singers who have been generous in their open attitude to teaching and sharing a wealth of information. I have benefitted enormously from observing them as examples as well as studying contemporary flamenco guitarists such as Vicente Amigo, Manolo Sanlucar, Rafael Riqueni, José Jiménez (El Viejín), Chicuelo, Paco de Lucía, Gerardo Núñez, Manolo Franco, Paco Peña, Ramón Jiménez and others. As a flamenco guitarist, I have spent much time and continue to do so, learning to accompany dance and flamenco voice as well, studying a wide variety of flamenco song types. My goal is both know all standard flamenco song types (palos), and be able to interpret them with depth, sincerity, and intimacy each deserves, buttressed by a knowledge of the history of each form.
