Who loves Bad Credit? I LOVE BAD CREDIT!! Even without their backup dancer Mitch, they are by far the most entertaining locals around. Luckily the dance vibe was still in effect thanks to the blonde guy in the white shirt spazzing out in front of the crowd, half of whom were there for the band, the other half were there to beat the line for Jivewire, Casbah's semi-regular dance night.

Although the slightly subdued crowd didn't participate in the shout-alongs as emphatically as I did ("Punk.com Log on! Log on!"), they did step it up during the encore which was a cover of Biz Markie's "Oh Baby You" which had the packed room singing in full out-of-key glory. I coerced a few friends to come check out the show since it was free. One is a hip-hop, R&B loving fool, and the others, well...they're from Iowa. After the set they all proclaimed Bad Credit's funky humor rock to be "awesome" and asked me when their next gig was. As if I'm their manager. But it's Sunday, June 29th at the Blarney Stone Pub in Clairmont since you were wondering. They also have a spot at the San Diego stop of The Warped Tour.

Bad Credit is a MUST SEE live performance. They're fun, energetic, witty, are stylin' in sweater vests, still think it's cool to have keyboards and have awesome names like Foot and OptimusRhyme. They tout themselves as financial hip-hop. I tout them as my favorite local band.
