When we first walked in there was a decent crowd (about 35 people) some near the stage and some as far away as possible. There was a mixture of high bar-stool tables, seating four and some floor tables and booths by the stage and dance floor. The music caught our attention, even from the outside. It was definitely the type of music that would make you get up and dance. As the night progressed however, I was surprised that no one ever stepped foot on the dance floor.

The band was Bad Habit - we joked about how the name doesn't really suit them. There were six members - one on drums, one on harmonica, three electric guitars and a singer; 5 males and 1 female. They had a strong sound, doing a mix of Blues covers. The harmonica and singer by far were the best part of the show. When they weren't on stage the music became a background and my attention drifted to the ping-pong game going on at my right. The bar itself, had some interesting attractions for entertainment - the ping-pong and foosball tables along with some tall video games, a basketball shoot-out and a win your very own stuffed animal machine. It was full of bright colored bears and dogs that you had the chance to win for 50 cents.

However, when the vocalist was in the spotlight, your attention could go nowhere but to the band. She deserved an ovation at the end of every song she finished. She could definitely belt it out. I would go see her again, anytime.

If I had one suggestion for the bar, the table-tops should have schedules that went past April. It would have been nice to see what other artists were coming in the future.

Drinks were pretty cheap - they had a nice variety on tap and one person in our party, ordered a drink they didn't know how to make and the bartender whipped up a house special. He drank it happily but then asked for his own concoction after and they were happy to oblige.

Even though my party, the owner and three other people finished out the night, it was a show worth going to see! I had a very enjoyable time. The owner made himself known to the customers and I would definitely visit Fat Katz again
