There is nothing better than being able to walk right into a place you've never been to and being treated like a local!

Kahuna's was a little quiet when we first walked in - due to technical difficulties - so I was lucky enough to get comfortable with a few of the regulars before the band was able to start. Though this struck me as the kind of place that has a distinctly "local" appeal (as opposed to your average PB "transplant," like myself) I loved that I could just pull up a chair at the bar and order something strong to get the night started.

The all-women band, Abigails Attic, is one of the most cohesive groups I've seen thus far. As soon as they started there set, I knew this was the kind of show where you could either kick back and enjoy good conversation with great background noise to keep your momentum going, or turn around and appreciate the talent on stage as they played for the enjoyment of performing. With such well written lyrics and compositions, added to their uniquely modern-classic sound, it's hard to imagine that this is a description of a rock 'n roll group!

In my opinion, these women are well organized and obviously have the kind of dedication to creating a mood in their music that can carry them far beyond the corners of PB and San Diego area. Abigails Attic has a certain essence that underlies the art of performing live. Cristina Sanchez has an energy in her voice that makes you wish you knew all the words so you could let loose and belt out the songs along with them!

Great show!
