Cameron Russell is in no way new to the San Diego music scene. He'd been in several local bands before putting out his solo CD in 2005, entitled "YesterdayDreamer." Just before the release, Russell left for two years to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Early 2007 saw his return to San Diego and plans to promote this eclectic album.

Songs such as "I'm A Patient" show off his rock roots, while "Dance (Together We Will Forget)" falls into the pop or funk genres. For a more stripped down sound, check out "Where Does Love Go" and "The End (acoustic)." Both tracks can easily let Russell be compared to Elliot Smith.

No matter what style you prefer, Russell's songwriting shines through. He is a born storyteller.

Look forward to many local shows in the coming months. In the meantime, check out the SDAM Podcast #5 to hear some of Russell's music.
